Marissa boys, Pinckneyville girls win at Marissa Invitational ... 9/7/10


The Marissa boys and Pinckneyville girls took top team honors at the Marissa Cross Country Invitational held September 7.
The Meteors ran way from the field with 37 points, followed by Pinckneyville (56), New Athens (101), Red Bud (104), Gibault (122) and Okawville (125).
Chazz Phelps and Clint Runyon took first and second place respectively for Marissa-Coulterville, while Kevin Galle claimed 10th, Kenny Jenkins (11th) and Johnnie Coke (13th).
The Pinckneyville squad was paced by Zach Hall and Hunter Queen, whom took sixth and seventh place. Also for Pinckneyville, Luke Miller took 12th, followed by Will Timpner (14th) and Dust VanMeter (15th).
Dillon Salger took sixth place overall to lead Red Bud. Zach Blow took 20th for the Musketeers, followed by James Ostlund (25th), Justin Deterding (26th) and Garrett Salger (27th).
On the girls side, Pinckneyville finished with 41 points to beat Okawville (68), Red Bud (77), Gibault (880 and Marissa-Okawville (102).
Mo Ramsey took third place overall to pace Pinckneyville, while Kiera Deford took eighth, followed by teammates Sarah Loos (ninth), Olivia Ashbrook (10th) and Mallory Timpner (11th).
Red Bud’s squad was led by Amber Birke (fourth), Mary Ann Soudag (13th), Brittney Burmester (16th), Jillian Ostlund (19th) and Crystal Harrawood (25th).
Ashley Lehman took sixth to lead Marissa-Coulterville, while Christa Hill took 17th, and Carleigh Baker finished in 18th place. Courtney Bingel took 30th, and Beckie Boelling claimed 31st place to round out the Lady Meteors’ team score.
