After spending three years as an assistant coach at Chester High, Steeleville alum Dr. Renee Rheinecker is heading back to her alma mater and this time she will be head coach.
“I am excited about coming home and wearing that blue and white again,” said Rheinecker. I know we will be a young team but I am looking forward to getting started. It will be a new conference for me with new teams to prepare for. I look forward to building a program here over the next couple of years.”
Rheinecker helped coach the Lady Jackets to a 1A regional title two years ago. She replaces former coach Amy Brown who stepped down as head coach at the end of the last season.
Rheinecker graduated from Steeleville High School in 1999. She will be hosting a meeting July 12 at 7 p.m. in the high school computer lab for anyone interested in playing volleyball. Parents are welcome to attend.
