After starting the season 0-3 at the SIRR Conference volleyball tournament, Chester found their winning ways in the Marissa/New Athens Labor Day tournament picking up two wins.
The Lady Jackets knocked off New Athens 21-12 and 21-19 to pen up at 1-0 in tournament play last Wednesday.
Tiffani Marshall had three kills and three points to lead the Chester offense, while Devon Hecht added two kills and five blocks and Megan Atchison and Jamie Chambers each served up 10 points.
Chester was as lucky later on Wednesday night falling to Columbia 21-11 and 21-12.
Marshall once again led the Chester attack with three kills, three blocks and five service points, while Atchison finished with a team high in assists.
Chester secured second place in their pool with a 21-14, 11-21, and 15-11 victory over Trico Thursday night.
Marshall led Chester with five kills, while Jordan Clendenin, Rachel Young and Devon Hecht each had four. Marshall also added three blocks.
Jamie Chambers and Atchison led Chester with four assists each, Taylor Crum added seven digs.
With the win, Chester will face Gibault tonight at 5:30 in the fifth place semifinals at Marissa High School.
If Chester wins, they will play for fifth place at 7:30 p.m. If the Lady Jackets lose, they will play for seventh place at 6:30 p.m.
