Black Diamond West Showdown: Lady Cats edge Trico in three sets ... 10/12/10

In a battle of the two top volleyball teams in the Black Diamond West, Christopher rallied from a set one loss to defeat Trico 15-25, 25-22, 25-14 Tuesday to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Leading 9-7 in set one, the Lady Pioneers went on a 10-2 scoring run to pull away for a 19-9 advantage. Trico would maintain the 10-point lead for most of the set en route to the 25-15 win.
Beth Daniels had eight kills in the opening set, while teammate Kristin Myers slammed down three kills.
Trico jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in set two but Christopher was able to battle back and tie the game up at 13-13.
The Lady Cats would go on a 3-0 scoring run to grab their first lead of the set, a lead they would never relinquish in a 25-22 win.
In the decisive set three, both teams matched each other point-for-point early on as Christopher held a slim 8-7 lead.
Trico couldn’t find any offensive rhythm in the set as Christopher used a late 7-0 run to cruise to the 25-14 win.
Daniels finished with 18 kills, while Amie Conway added 14 assists.
Christopher was led by Autumn Morris with 13 kills and Hope Vallette with 23 assists.
These two teams could very well meet up again in the Elverado Regional, as the Lady Pioneers are seeded number one and Christopher is the two seed.
