Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School opened the 2010 volleyball season with a 26-24, 15-25, 25-18 win over Trinity Christian of Carbondale Friday night.
With six returning and two new players on the varsity team this year, the Lady Soldiers looked forward to the new season.
Seniors Callie and Bailey Jackson, daughters of Rodney and Julie Jackson of Coulterville, were the captains for the Lady Soldiers Friday night.
The Christ Our Savior team also includes juniors Sarah McCluskey and Naomi Mehring and sophomores Jenna Curten, Alyssa Gibbs, Katie Kirkham and Hannah Ruez. The team is coached by Ann Ryherd and managed by student Courtney Caldwell.
The Lady Soldiers dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 25-7, 25-23 loss to Dupo Monday night.
The Lady Soldiers will be in action at home September 28 against Governor French Academy at 6:30 p.m.
