Former Trico three sport standout, Danielle Stephenson has been selected to the National Junior College Region 24 softball team voted on by the coaches in the region. The top 13 players in the region are selected.
Stephenson, as a freshman for Lincoln College, hit in the sixth spot in the lineup and played left field. She had 126 at bats and batted .397 for the Lady Lynx. Stephenson finished with 50 hits, four doubles, two triples, two home runs and 32 runs batted in.
“I was really pleased with Danielle,” said Lincoln College coach John Andrews. “She is a very consistent hitter that always makes good contact and can hit with power. She has a sweet swing that works well for her. She really had a solid freshman year, and I am happy for her to get recognized.”
Stephenson is the daughter of Joey Stephenson of Ava and Teresa Ehlers of Campbell Hill.
