Sparta High School held its end of year and sports recognition night Thursday.
Maurice Austin and Rachel Peck won the Bill Simonds Athlete of the Year and the Hazel Jean Beattie Athlete of the Year awards respectively.
Tyler Kiefer won the Frank Torrence Sportsmanship Award, while Aleigh Eggemeyer and Megan Meyerhoff won the Dorothy Bradley Sportsmanship Award.
The John Cruser Student Athlete Awards went to Clarissa Richno, Meyerhoff and Peck.
Taylor Martin won the Sara Bixby Golf Award, while the Don Bixby Golf Award went to Kaleb Kessler. Martin and Kessler also won the Bixby Athletic Scholarship.
Blake Shelton took home the Leslie Shelton Memorial Scholarship and the Captain Roger D. Partington Football Award.
The Stephanie Birchler Cross Country/Track Award went to Richno, while Cody Klein won the Buzz Bradley Cross Country/Track Award.
Dartanus White received the Mark Wolter Basketball Award and Peck won the Sparta High School Girls Basketball Award.
Erica Gallois and Peck were both honored with the Sparta High School Volleyball Award.
The Joe Garagiola/Derek Bockhorn Baseball Award was given to Chris Theobald, while Martin won the Stacie Kohrs Softball Award.
The Southern Illinois Coaches Association scholarship winners were Melyssa Bradshaw,  Aleigh Eggemeyer, Dustin Neff and Ethan Renner.
