Stefan Gregson tossed a one-hit shutout to lead Sparta past Steeleville 9-0 Monday in Senior Legion baseball action.
Garrick Hale led the offensive attack for Sparta going 3-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in. Other key contributors for Sparta included Seth Buch 3-for-4 with a double and a run batted in and Kyle Wahl a double and two runs batted in.
David Winters got the loss for Steeleville while Clint Hawkins had the team’s lone hit.
With the win, Sparta improved to 4-0 on the season.

Marion scored the first seven runs of the game and coasted to a 7-1 victory over Steeleville Saturday at home.
Steeleville’s lone run came in the top of the seventh inning. Keith Kettner took the loss on the mound while David Winters was 2-for-4 to lead the offense.

Orient 2
Despite missing several key players, Sparta rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to top Orient 6-2 Saturday.
Darius Jackson led the Sparta attack going 2-for-4 with two triples and three runs batted in. Seth Buch was 2-for-3 from the plate with two runs batted in.
Chris Theobald earned the win as he tossed five scoreless innings.
