Two-time defending 1A softball state champion Cobden got all it could handle with Marissa-Coulterville in the Cobden Sectional semifinals.
The game, which was played over two days because of rain, ended with Cobden escaping with a 3-2 victory.
The Lady Meteors opened up the scoring with a lone run in the top of the first inning.
Cobden answered with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the frame.
Marissa-Coulterville tied up the contest in the third with a clutch hit by Corey Pitchford to drive in Abbie Lehman.
Cobden scored the winning run in the bottom fifth.
Ashley Lehman took the loss despite giving up just three runs on six hits.
The Marissa-Coulterville offense was paced by Pitchford (2-for-3 with a RBI), Abbie Lehman (2-for-3), Christa Hill (1-for-2 with a RBI), Camille Bumann (1-for-3) and Paige Phelps (1-for-3).
With the loss, Marissa-Coulterville wrapped up its season with a record of 19-16.
