Coulterville native and junior guard at McKendree, Katie Fullerton was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for her achievements this season in the classroom.
Fullerton was one of 120 NAIA Division I womens basketball players who were a junior or higher in academic status and maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Fullerton was also named an honorable mention NAIA All-American. She averaged 11.9 points and 5.7 rebounds/game this season for the Bearcats. She was also a first-team All-Conference selection and was ranked second in six statistical categories for McKendree.
The Bearcats ended the season with an overall record of 25-7 and earned a three-way share of the American Midwest Conference regular season championship with a record of 14-2. McKendree’s 25 wins this season tied a school record for wins in a season set in both 2003-04 and tied again in 2004-05. The Bearcats also qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the ninth time in program history.
