Sparta High School principal Greg Jones has been elected to the Illinois High School Association’s (IHSA) board of directors.
Jones was elected to the Division 7 at-large minority board seat for a three-year term.
IHSA membership schools could nominate board candidates, including a representative from their own school, beginning August 13. Nominations were compiled September 16, with voting lasting from September 17 through last Thursday.
Jones becomes the first representative from Sparta to serve on the IHSA board.
