Jackets golf team losses a pair of matches

Is was perfect golf weather Friday as the Marissa-Coulterville golf team hosted a triangular match against the Valmeyer and Chester boys teams.
The Meteors took the match with a team score of 169 followed by Valmeyer (217) and Chester (221).
Chester senior Brett Barthol led the Jackets with a 47 followed by Jonavan Richelman (53), Samuel Higgerson (56), and Tommy Pfeiffer.

The Chester boys golf team continues to drop strokes, not only from Friday’s match against Marissa and Valmeyer, but also surpassing last year’s match score at Union Country Club of 226.
However, the improvement was not enough to win the match Tuesday as Murphysboro won the triangular with a team score of 171 followed by Anna-Jonesboro (174) and Chester (211)
Chester’s Brett Barthol carded the third lowest score of the day with a 42. Jonavan Richelman brought in a 50 for the Jackets, parring three of nine. Tommy Pfeiffer completed his round with a 58, dropping 8 strokes from last year’s match against A-J, while Sam Higgerson caught a bad stretch of double-bogeys early in the round, finishing with a 61.
Anna-Jonesboro’s Buckner lead the course with a 37 while Murphysboro’s Novara led the Red Devils with a 38.
