Trico racked up a 17-point lead in the first half and coasted to a 53-23 victory over New Athens Wednesday for the team’s first win of the season.
The Lady pioneers jumped out to a 17-4 advantage in the first quarter and led 35-9 at the intermission.
Trico put the game out of reach by outscoring New Athens 8-7 in the third and 10-8 in the fourth for the 30-point nonconference win.
Chelsea Jarrett led Trico with a game high 20 points, while Beth Daniels added 14 and Stephanie Cochran tossed in 10.
Trico improved to 1-5 with the win.
