Steeleville snapped a two-game losing streak and even its record Monday night with a 27-24 victory over Dupo in Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division girls basketball action.
The Lady Warriors led 6-4 at the end of the first quarter, 13-6 at halftime and 23-15 three quarters of play. Dupo outscored Steeleville 9-4 over the final eight minutes, but couldn’t close out the win.
Jill Winkelman scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Steeleville. Megan Lalis added eight points and nine rebounds in the win.
Steeleville improved to 5-5 on the season with the victory.
