The Lady Panthers ran out to a 44-17 first half lead and never looked back en route to a 78-37 victory over Gallatin County Friday.
“Tonight was the best effort and energy we have played with so far this year,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “I was really pleased with how we got
into the passing lanes to get deflections, which didn’t always end up as turnovers, but completely disrupted their offense. We shared the ball really well tonight, getting four girls into double figures and 10 into the scoring column. If we play with the kind of effort we did tonight, I really like our chances to be successful this season.”
Pinckneyville outscored Gallatin County 34-20 in the second half for the 41-point win to improve to 3-0 in the Hamilton County tournament.
Emily Miller scored 17 to lead the Pinckneyville offense, while Taylor Kuhnert and Maddy Keith each had 11, and Kortney Crawford added 10.
