Pinckneyville got back on the winning track Tuesday with a 60-36 against rival Du Quoin.
“It was nice to see us get back to what we do well and guard the basketball,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “It was nice to see us swarming the ball out front, forcing over 30 turnovers and picking up 24 steals. Before the game we talked about making every possession difficult, and we did a pretty nice job of working toward that goal.”
The Lady Panthers led 16-11 in the first quarter and held a 35-19 halftime advantage. Pinckneyville outscored Du Quoin 25-17 in the second half for the 24-point win.
Emily Miller tossed in a game high 20 points for Pinckneyville in the win.
The Lady Panthers improved to 7-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
