Pinckneyville raced out to a 33-point first half lead and never looked back in a 79-31 victory over Chester in the Lady Panthers’ senior night.
Pinckneyville’s lone senior scored a game high 18 points in the win.
“We didn't jump out of the gates like we would have liked to, but we strung together good second and third quarters on our way to a nice victory,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “Again we shared the ball very well, picking up 19 assists, and getting 10 girls into the scoring column. This was a nice tune-up on our way into the regionals on Tuesday.”
The Lady Panthers led 16-5 at the end of the first quarter and 46-13 at the intermission. Pinckneyville put the game away in the second half outscoring the Lady Yellow Jackets 33-18.
Taylor Cicardi added 15 points for Pinckneyville, while Maddy Keith had 14.
Hilary Best led Chester with 11 points.
