Nashville stays in control of SIRR Mississippi with win over Lady Panthers ... 1/26/10

Nashville jumped out to an 18-point first half lead and never looked back in a 61-33 victory over Pinckneyville to stay undefeated in SIRR Mississippi Division play.
The Lady Panthers fell behind 16-7 in the first quarter and trailed 30-12 at the intermission.
Nashville iced the win in the second half by outscoring Pinckneyville 31-21 for the 28-point win.
“My biggest disappointment is that we really didn't do a very good job of following the scouting report again,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt.  “We allowed Nashville to do some things that we should have known to take away, and we didn't attempt to play at a good pace for ourselves.  Once again, our effort was uneven. Nashville is a very, very good basketball team, but we didn't give a consistent effort to put ourselves in a position to have success. It was nice to see Lindsey Winter really look for her shot, which opened things up for her.  Lindsey, Maddy Keith, and Taylor Cicardi all did a really nice job looking for their offense tonight, but we have to have five girls on the floor all looking to score.”
Winter finished with 12 points to lead Pinckneyville, while Cicardi added 10 and Keith had eight.
With the loss the Lady Panthers dropped to 16-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
