Marissa-Coulterville used a 16-5 scoring run in the second quarter to roll to a 54-41 victory Monday night in Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division action.
The Lady Meteors led 15-13 at the end of the first quarter and held a 31-18 halftime advantage.
The Lady Warriors outscored Marissa-Coulterville 10-7 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 10, 38-28. The Lady Meteors held off Steeleville 16-13 in the final eight minutes of play for the 13-point win.
Kara Wine led Marissa-Coultverille with a game high 14 points. Brittany Sloan finished with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Paige Phelps had 10 points. The win was the Lady Meteors’ sixth straight as they improve to 6-2 on the season.
Megan Lalis, Natalie Ruebke and Alex Gale all had nine points to lead Steeleville, while Jill Winkelman finished with seven points and eight rebounds.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak by the Lady Warriors as they drop to 4-4 on the season.
