Kara Wine and Dena Malkin combined to score 35 points to lead Marissa-Coulterville past Red Bud 49-41 Thursday night.
The Lady Meteors rushed out to a 20-point first half lead and then held off Red Bud late for the eight-point win in nonconference action.
Marissa-Coulterville led 19-18 at the end of the first quarter then outscored Red Bud 11-0 in the second for a 30-18 lead at the break.
Red Bud fought back outscoring Marissa-Coulterville 10-8 in the third and 13-11 in the fourth, but it was not enough in the end.
Wine finished with 19 points, while Malkin had 16 for the Lady Meteors.
Tara Hubert scored 10 points to pace Red Bud, while Tori Albert added nine.
