The Lady Meteors of Marissa-Coulterville will be looking for their third consecutive regional title after defeating Trico in the semifinals Tuesday night. In other semifinal action, Red Bud lost to Freeburg. Pinckneyville fell short against Nashville and Okawville topped Steeleville.
Marissa-Coulterville 36, Trico 27
Kendra Goss scored 19 points to lead Marissa-Coulterville past Trico Tuesday night in the Marissa 1A Regional semifinals.
Trico led 6-5 at the end of the first quarter but trailed 15-13 at halftime. The Lady Meteors outscored Trico 21-14 in the second half to pull away for the nine-point win.
Bailey Setzekorn added eight points in the win.
For Trico, Kourtney Bunselmeyer led the way with 10 points.
Okawville 43, Steeleville 22
Okawville outscored Steeleville in every quarter en route to a 43-22 win Tuesday night in the Marissa 1A Regional semifinals.
The Lady Warriors fell behind 12-9 in the first quarter and trailed 19-12 at the break.
Okawville pulled away in the second half, outscoring Steeleville 8-2 and 16-8 for the 21-point win.
Alex Gale led Steeleville with 10 points, while Sara Potter had seven.
Nashville 44, Pinckneyville 18
Nashville held Pinckneyville to just eight points in the first half and then 10 in the second half for a 44-18 win Tuesday night in the Pinckneyville 2A Regional semifinals.
The Lady Panthers trailed 24-8 at the break.
Haley Simpson was the high scorer for Pinckneyville with six points.
Pinckneyville finished the season with a 15-15 overall record.
Freeburg 62, Red Bud 52
Kelsey Mueller scored a game-high 25 points to lead Freeburg past Red Bud Tuesday night in the Pinckneyville 2A Regional semifinals.
The Lady Musketeers trailed 17-9 at the end of the first quarter and just 23-22 at the midway point. Freeburg outscored Red Bud 39-30 in the second half to pull out the 10-point win.
Ali Ringering had 18 points to lead Red Bud, while Tara Hubert added 12 and Tori Albert had 10.
Steeleville 45, Elverado 34
Natalie Ruebke exploded to score 23 points to lead Steeleville over Elverado in the first round of the Marissa 1A Regional Monday night.
Alex Gale added nine points in the win.
Pinckneyville 51, Sparta 43
Pinckneyville ran out to a 32-13 first half lead but had to hold off a late, strong surge by Sparta in a 51-43 win Monday night in the first round of the Pinckneyville 2A Regional.
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Pinckneyville 17-2 in the fourth quarter but fell short in the end.
Haley Simpson led Pinckneyville with 13 points and Katelyn Mayer had 11 in the win.
For Sparta, Jade Vaughn scored 28 points, with 25 coming in the second half.
Red Bud 66, Chester 28
Red Bud used a 43-9 scoring run over quarters two and three to pull away for a 66-28 win over Chester Monday night in the first round of the Pinckneyville 2A Regional.
Ali Ringering led all scores with 26 points, while Tara Hubert added 20 in the win.
Taylor LaRose led Chester with eight points.
