The girls basketball postseason begins next week as Sparta and Steeleville will both be hosting regionals.
At the Steeleville Class 1A Regional, play begins as the fifth seed Chester takes on the fourth seed Trico Monday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. It will be the fourth those two teams have met this season, with Chester owning two wins against the higher seeded Lady Pioneers.
The winner of the first matchup will then take on top seeded Marissa-Coulterville Wednesday, February 9 at 6 p.m. Following that game, the other semifinal will take place as the third seeded Steeleviulle Lady Warriors take on Shawnee, the two seed at 8:10 p.m.
The regional finals are set for Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The winner of the regional will advance to the Carrollton Sectional where they will play the winner of the White Hall Regional Tuesday, February 15 at 7:30pm.
At the Sparta 2A Regional, the host Lady Bulldogs got the five seed and will take on the fourth seed Du Quoin Monday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m.
The winner of the first matchup will then take on top seeded Nashville Tuesday, February 8 at 6 p.m. Following that semifinal game, the other semifinal contest of (2) Pinckneyville and (3) Red Bud will start at 8:10 p.m.
The regional finals are set for Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The winner of the regional will advance to the Nashville Sectional where they will play the winner of the Carterville Regional Tuesday, February 15 at 7:30pm.
