Nashville 50, Pinckneyville 23
Nashville held Pinckneyville to under double digits in scoring in each quarter for a 50-23 win Tuesday night.
“Aside from a few individual breakdowns, this was our best job of playing team defense, and at times, we did the best job we have done this year of running motion offense,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “We just still have a lot of work to do in order to compete against a good team like Nashville. They are heads and shoulders better than anyone we have seen this year. We will see if we can come back and learn from our mistakes on Thursday versus Sparta.”
The Lady Panthers fell behind 11-3 in the first quarter and trailed 24-12 at the intermission. In the second half, Nashville outscored Pinckneyville 11-4 in the third and 15-7 in the fourth for the 27-point margin.

Pinckneyville outscored Benton 31-19 in the second half to overcome a five-point halftime deficit and knock off Benton 55-48 Friday night.
“We got ourselves into serious foul trouble in the first half because we didn't move our feet, didn't check out well, and didn't adjust to how the game was being called,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “Probably the most disappointing aspect of the night was our lack of attention to the scouting report. We knew what they were going to try to do against us, but we let them do what they wanted in the first half on offense, and it took us until midway through the third quarter to adjust to their half-court trap. With that being said, it was really good to see our bench step up, 39 of our 55 points came from the bench, with  Dani Jenkel, Kortney Crawford, and Taylor Kuhnert really offering us some great minutes.”
Jenkel, Crawford and Kuhnert all scored in double digits with 14, 10 and 10 respectively.
