Chester looks to improve to 3-0 on season

Chester is looking to get off to a remarkable 3-0 start, while Wesclin is coming off their first loss of the season, a 38-6 beating by Red Bud last Friday night.
“Wesclin is a pretty physical football team,” said Chester coach Bryan Lee. “They have decent team speed and have a quick runningback that can do some damage on the perimeter. Wesclin has a quarterback that throws a pretty good ball and they have a good athlete at receiver. Wesclin’s offense has good balance and they run multiple formations. They are tough to prepare for, it is almost like preparing for two teams. Defensively, they play similar to Fredericktown. They will look to stack the box and force us to be balanced on offense. We have to limit our penalties and our mistakes. Last week’s game was just embarrassing. We have to play solid defensively on the perimeter and stop the long ball.”
The Chester rushing attack has looked unstoppable in their first games with wins over Carlyle and Fredericktown.
Wesclin out gained the Yellow Jackets 214 to 60 on the ground and 266 to 215 in total offense. However, Chester has come a long way under coach Bryan Lee and seem to be running his wing-T offense perfectly.
This time it definitely looks to be Chester’s year. If the Yellow Jackets can hold on to the football and cut down on their penalties, they should control the game at the line of scrimmage and win by three touchdowns 32-8.
