Carmi-White County scored 34 unanswered points to pull away from Elverado-Trico for a 41-8 win Friday night in Black Diamond Conference football action.
Logan Rogers had a career night as he ran the ball 31 times for 343 yards with four touchdowns to lead Carmi to the 33-point win.
Rogers got the scoring started with a 20-yard touchdown run as his team took a 7-0 lead with 9:54 to play in the first quarter.
The Falcons answered back as Herby Sandlin broke free for a 78-yard touchdown run. Sandlin then threw the two-point conversion to Alex McGill as Elverado-Trico led 8-7 at the end of the first quarter.
However, it was all Carmi the rest of the way. The Bulldogs scored 16 points in the second quarter, six in the third and 12 in the fourth to run away with the win.
Sandlin finished the game with 100 yards rushing on just three carries to lead the Elverado-Trico offense, while McGill completed six-of-21 passes for 26 yards with three interceptions.
The Falcons fell to 0-8 on the season with the loss, while Carmi improved to 3-5.
