The field was sloppy and so was the play, as Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton (CZR) shut out Elverado-Trico 20-0 Friday night in Elkville.
The two teams combined for only nine first downs in the game as the Falcon defense held CZR to 140 yards of total offense. The Elverado-Trico offense had even a tougher time getting yards, as they were held to just 54 yards of total offense in the 20-point loss.
CZR scored eight points in the second quarter, six in the third and six in the fourth for the win. With the loss, Elverado-Trico finished their second consecutive year at 0-9.
Kyle Easton led the Falcons’ offense with 34 yards rushing, while Alex McGill completed four-of-nine passes for 34 yards.
