Elverado-Trico was one-half away from picking up its first win in over three years. However, the Falcons were outscored 18-0 in the second half as Vienna rallied for a 38-22 victory Friday night in Black Diamond Conference football action.
The Falcons fell behind 6-0 in the first quarter before exploding for 22 points in the second frame to grab a 22-20 lead at intermission.
In the second quarter, Alex McGill ran for two touchdowns, 35 and 17 yards respectively, while Dalton Porter added a 13-yard touchdown run.
Vienna put the game away in the second half with touchdown runs of four, two and 46 yards.
McGill finished with 96 yards rushing while completing 6-of-14 passes for 99 yards.
Elverado-Trico dropped to 0-5 on the season, while Vienna improved to 1-4.
The Falcons travel to take on Hamilton County (2-3) Friday night.
