Du Quoin topped Perry County rival Pinckneyville for the 27th consecutive time in football action Friday night 57-12.
The Indians scored the game’s first 35 points and never let up in the 45-point victory.
With the loss, Pinckneyville dropped to 1-5 on the season, while Du Quoin improved to 4-2.
Du Quoin scored 21 points in the first quarter and added three more touchdowns in the second quarter to pull away.
Pinckneyville’s first score came when Bryant Shute hooked up with Adam Barczewski in the end zone with 28 seconds to go in the half.
J.D. Conner scored the Panthers’ final touchdown of the game near the end of the third quarter on a 42-yard carry.
Conner finished with 88 yards on 13 carries, while Shute ran the ball for 18 yards on 11 carries and completed 3-of-7 passes for 50 yards.
Seth Baxter was the offensive hero of the game for Du Quoin as he ran for 111 yards with five touchdowns in the game.
Pinckneyville will travel to face Sparta (0-6) Friday night, as both teams will be looking for its first conference win of the season.
