In a battle of winless teams, Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton scored a touchdown with 18 seconds left in the game to edge out Elverado-Trico 32-26 Friday night in Christopher.
The Bearcats scored the first 12 points of the game to take control early, but Elverado-Trico stayed close with a two-yard touchdown run by Alex McGill and a four-yard touchdown pass from McGill to Bryce Mathis. CZR led 18-14 at halftime.
The Falcons grabbed their first lead of the game four minutes into the third quarter with an 80-yard touchdown run by Dalton Porter.
CZR answered back just over three minutes later with a touchdown to reclaim the lead, 26-20, with 4:56 left in the third quarter.
Wade Bowlin tied the game up at 26-26 on the ensuing kickoff by retuning the kick 80 yards for the score.
The game would remain tied until the Bearcats put the game-winning score on the board with an 18-yard touchdown run with just 18 seconds left on the clock.
Elverado-Trico finished the game with 327 yards of total offense with 195 yards coming from the ground.
Porter finished with 96 yards rushing on eight carries, while McGill added 87 yards rushing while completing 10-of-18 passes for 132 yards.
With the loss, Elverado-Trico wrapped up the 2010 campaign at 0-9.
