Freeburg 5

Elijah Burton picked up the win as he pitched six innings allowing five runs on 10 hits while striking out four. Casey Pitchford tossed a scoreless seventh inning to notch the save.
Pitchford also went 2-for-3 from the plate with four runs batted in to lead the Meteor offense. Burton and Logan Tabor each drove in runs as well in the win.
Du Quoin 4
Pinckneyville 2

Pinckneyville rallied to score two runs in the seventh inning but couldn’t overcome an early 4-0 deficit as Du Quoin held on for the 4-2 win Tuesday.
“There is not a lot to say about this one that hasn't been repeated over and over this season,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “You cannot expect to be completely disinterested in the game for the majority of the game and hope to win in the end. The frustrating point is we are not getting better.  We have fallen back to 10-10 and are out of the conference race. We have 15 games left to get ready for the regional, so we need to see what we can do in that time frame.”
Drew Dudek was saddled with the loss as he gave up four runs on seven hits.
Adam Barczewski and Marian Brammeier each drove in a run to lead the Panther attack.
Red Bud 3
Wesclin 2

Alex Phegley had both of Red Bud’s hits as he drove in two runs to lead Red Bud past Wesclin 3-2 Thursday.
