Sparta boys cross country team continue to run well ... 10/2/10

The Sparta varsity boys cross country team took part Saturday in the Peoria High Invitational at Detweiller Park, where the state meet is held.
While the meet was mainly made up of 2A and 3A teams and featured 55 schools with a total of 375 runners, the Bulldogs took 15th place overall, which was the top finish for a Class A school.
The previous week, the boys team took third in the tough Springfield Invitational.
“We ran one of our best races ever,” said Sparta coach Mark North. “We had six kids run, and every one of them ran a personal record time for three miles.”
Wade Reeves led the Bulldogs with a 14th place finish in 15:15 followed by teammates Jon Hill (50th, 15:43), Wes Bradshaw (96th, 16:15), Trevor Morgan (107th, 16:18), Adam White (218th, 17:02) and Tony Briscoe (270th, 17:29).
