Red Bud’s fourth quarter rally came up short, as Red Bud held on for a 59-51 victory Friday night in Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division action.
The Musketeers fell behind 12-6 in the first and trailed 28-16 at halftime. Red Bud outscored Wesclin 35-31 in the second half including 25-20 over the final eight minutes of play, but couldn’t quite get over the hump.
Four players reached double digits in scoring for Wesclin with Kyle Emig leading the way with 15 points.
Adam Kunkel scored 19 points to lead Red Bud, while Jake Hoffman added 14 and Kory Liefer finished with 11.
It was the fourth consecutive loss of the season for the Musketeers. Red Bud dropped to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference with the loss.
