Trico’s defense held Elverado to under double digit scoring in every quarter including just five points in the first half, as the Pioneers rolled to a 66-13 win Saturday night in Black Diamond West action.
Trico ran out to a 12-5 lead in the first quarter and then outscored the Falcons 21-0 in the second for a commanding 33-5 halftime lead.
The Pioneers put the game out of reach in the second half outscoring Elverado 18-2 in the third and 15-6 in the fourth for the 53-point win.
Logan Thies finished with a game-best 17 points to lead Trico, while Tyler Coleman added 10.
With the win, Trico improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
