Steeleville rallied from a three-point fourth quarter deficit to force overtime and then defeat New Athens 64-55 in an important Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division matchup Friday night.
The Warriors outscored New Athens 17-8 in the extra session for the win.
Steeleville fell behind 13-12 in the first quarter and trailed 20-19 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets outscored Steeleville 12-10 in the third for a 32-29 lead going into the fourth period.
The Warriors rallied to outscore New Athens 18-15 to force overtime and get the win.
Andrew Pokrzywinski led Steeleville with 17 points and 10 assists, while Coire Reel added 13 points and 18 rebounds. Nick Potter tossed in 14 points in the win.
Vince Kiefer led New Athens with 16 points.
