The Bulldogs picked up an impressive first round victory over Columbia 50-43 in the Lebanon/McKendree tournament Friday.
Dartanus White led the Bulldogs to victory with a game high 23 points.
Sparta outscored Columbia 8-4 in the first quarter, and 12-10 in the second, for a 20-14 halftime lead.
Columbia answered back outscoring Sparta 15-12 in the third to cut the deficit to 32-29.
In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs held off Columbia 18-14 for the seven-point win. David Sams finished with six points for the Dawgs, while Maurice Austin and Jordan Thompson each added five.
Tanner Hall led Columbia with 12 points, while Taylor O’Connor added 10.
Sparta improved to 3-0 on the season with the win and 1-0 in tournament play.
