Trico won its tournament opener Wednesday night by holding off Red Bud 56-46.
The Pioneers led 15-12 in the first quarter and 25-16 at halftime. Trico outscored the Musketeers 16-14 in the third to hold an 11-point advantage, 41-30, going into the fourth quarter.
Logan Thies scored 24 points to pace Trico, while Jesse Smith and Chase Heins each added 12.
Jake Hoffman led Red Bud by scoring a game high 26 points which included six three-pointers in the loss. Adam Kunkel tossed in 11 for the Musketeers.
Trico improved to 1-0 in pool play, while Red Bud fell to 0-2.
Sparta 55
Waterloo 45
Dartanus White and Maurice Austin combined to score 35 points to lead Sparta to a 55-45 win over Waterloo to improve to 2-0 in its own tournament Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs led 17-13 at the end of the first quarter and held a 28-24 halftime advantage.
Sparta went on to outscore Waterloo 7-6 in the third and 20-15 in the fourth for the 10-point win.
White finished with 18 points, while Austin added 17 and David Sams chipped in with 11.
Lebanon 66
Steeleville 48
Andrew Pokrzywinski scored a game high 24 points but it was not enough as Steeleville dropped to 0-2 in the tournament with a 66-48 loss to Lebanon Wednesday night.
Lebanon jumped out to a 15-4 first quarter lead and held a 36-11 advantage at halftime.
The Warriors battled back to outscore Lebanon 17-15 in the third and 20-15 in the fourth, but still came up 18 points shots in the loss.
Pokrzywinski was the lone Steeleville player to reach double figures in scoring, while Lebanon posted four players in double digits.
