In a battle of SIRR Mississippi heavyweights, Pinckneyville held Nashville to just 12 points in the first half in its 51-39 victory Friday night.
The Panthers ran out to a 9-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 21-12 halftime advantage.
Nashville fought back in the third, outscoring Pinckneyville 13-8 to cut the deficit to 29-25 heading into the fourth.
However, the final eight minutes was all Pinckneyville. The Panthers outscored the Hornets 22-14 for the 12-point win.
Drew Dudek led Pinckneyville with 20 points, while Nathan Morton added 15.
The Panthers improved to 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
