Pinckneyville started the SIRR Mississippi conference season on the right foot with a 60-49 win over Anna-Jonesboro Friday night.

The Panthers ran out to an 18-8 first quarter lead and held a 27-22 advantage at the intermission.

Pinckneyville outscored AJ 20-11 in the third and withheld a late rally for the 11-point win.

Nathan Morton finished the game with a team high 13 points to lead the Pinckneyville offense. Landon Chandler added 12 and Shay Kellerman had 10 points as the Panthers improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.
