Trico fell into the consolation bracket of the 46th annual Carbondale Holiday tournament with a 59-49 loss to New Madrid Monday night at SIU Arena.
The biggest difference in the game was free throw shooting as the Eagles made 21-of-29 from the foul line, while Trico struggled to make 11-of-29.
The Pioneers fell behind 13-11 in the first quarter and trailed 31-23 at halftime.
Trico fought back in the third to outscore New Madrid 15-13 to cut the deficit to 44-38 heading in to the fourth period.
The Eagles put the game on ice by outscoring the Pioneers 15-11 over the final eight minutes.
Logan Thies scored 25 points to lead Trico, while Dylan Witthoft added nine.
