Tuesday night was a night of firsts for the Marissa-Coulterville boys basketball program. The Meteors topped Valmeyer 75-44, for their first win of the season, their first victory in the Okawville Post-Thanksgiving Tournament, and the first win under first year head coach Dirk Miller.
Marissa-Coulterville exploded to a 24-2 lead in the first quarter and were never threatened in the game.
The Meteors would go on to lead 46-12 at halftime, as the team coasted to the 31-point victory.
Mike Lloyd led Marissa-Coulterville with 21 points, while Joey Martin added 11 and Joey Smith tossed in 10. A total of 10 different Meteors scored in the lopsided win.
Marissa-Coulterville improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in tournament play.
