Christ Our Savior improves to 4-3 on the season ... 1/18/10

The Christ Our Savior Soldiers improved their record to 4-3 after splitting a pair of games this past week.
Last Tuesday, the Soldiers travelled to Belleville to take on Governor French Academy.
Christ Our Savior took a slim 7-6 lead in the first quarter, but were able to find some mismatches in the second quarter.
Corey Rahn tallied 14 points in the second quarter as the Soldiers surged to a 22-17 halftime lead.
The Soldiers increased their lead in the second half behind solid shooting from Daniel Mehring and good rebounding from Ben Boeder and Cory Rehmer.
Governor French made a run in the fourth quarter, pulling within nine points, but Christ Our Savior held on for a 52-38 win.
Rahn finished with 20 points to lead the Soldiers, while Mehring had 16, Rehmer added seven, Nathan Denney finished with six, and Ben Boeder added four.
In their homecoming game Friday night, the Soldiers battled the Dupo Tigers. Christ Our Savior jumped out to an 8-2 first quarter lead. However, in the second quarter with leading scorer Corey Rahn hobbled with a sprained ankle suffered in the opening quarter, the Tigers clawed to an 18-15 halftime lead.
Dupo opened its lead to 23-18, but Boeder scored on an offensive rebound and Rahn hit a three-pointer to tie the score.
However, poor ball-handling and poor shot selection plagued the Soldiers over the next several possessions as Dupo went on a 16-0 run for a 39-23 advantage.
The Soldiers attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter as Rahn nailed two three-pointers and Denney scored nine points in the quarter, but it was not enough, as the team fell 52-39.
Rahn led his team with 16 points, while Denney had 14.
Christ Our Savior returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at home against Ezra of West Frankfort.
