Marissa-Coulterville 51, Dupo 43
Marissa-Coulterville rallied from a 16-7 first quarter deficit to knock off Cahokia Conference foe Dupo 51-43 Tuesday night.
The Meteors fought back after the first quarter to outscore Dupo 16-5 in the second, 8-6 in the third and 20-16 in the fourth.
Joey Smith tossed in 29 points to lead the Meteors, while Austin Place added eight.
With the win, Marissa-Coulterville improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Chester 64, Zeigler-Royalton 43
Chester outscored Zeigler-Royalton 40-20 in the first half including 22-7 in the first quarter for a 64-43 win Tuesday night.
With the win, Chester improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the Black Diamond West.
Kyle Landon led Chester with 14 points, while Link Cushman added 11 in the win.
Pinckneyville 59, West Frankfort 21
Pinckneyville opened up the game with a 21-2 run and coasted to a 59-21 victory Saturday over West Frankfort.
The Panthers led 39-14 at the break and outscored West Frankfort 20-7 in the second half for the 38-point blow out.
Hunter Queen paced Pinckneyville with 14 points, while Payton Nippe finished with 10. Pinckneyville improved to 3-0 on the season with the win.
Pinckneyville 33, Gibault 30
Dylan Hardin scored a game-high 13 points to lead Pinckneyville past Gibault 34-30 Friday night.
The Panthers led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter and 18-15 at halftime.
Hunter Queen added nine points in the win.
First Baptist Academy 29, Christ Our Savior 26
The Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School Soldiers opened their 2011-2012 Basketball Season December 1. The Soldiers battled it out on their home court against the First Baptist Academy Eagles of O’Fallon.
With a strong defense, the Soldiers held the lead during the first half of the game. However, the Eagles took the lead at the end of the third quarter creating a close game throughout the fourth. The Eagles took the three point lead during the last seconds of the game causing the Soldiers to fall 29-26
The Soldiers will next be in action at Saxony Lutheran High School December 16.
