Pinckneyville 7,  Nashville 6
After giving up the lead in the seventh inning, Pinckneyville scored two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to pull out a 7-6 win over Nashville Monday.
“Once again our pitching did a nice job of keeping us in a game where we didn't swing the bats very well,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “Evan Chapman threw six very strong innings before running into trouble in the seventh, which was probably my fault for leaving him in there a little too long today. Taylor Beninati then did a nice job coming in the ninth to keep the score tied and set us up for the victory in the bottom of the inning.”
The Panthers scored two runs in the first inning and single runs in the second and the fourth for a 4-2 lead.
Nashville scored two runs in the seventh to force extra innings. Each team scored two runs in the eighth and Pinckneyville pulled out the victory in the ninth.

The Panthers scored three runs in the sixth inning but AJ responded back with three runs in the bottom half of the frame for the 3-3 tie.
“I thought the boys did a great job of coming out ready to play, even though when we came to school, we weren't planning on playing today,” said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt. “Evan Chapman did a great job of keeping us in the game today, throwing another seven solid innings.”
Chapman improved to 3-0 on the season after allowing no earned runs on nine hits with six strikeouts.

All three of our pitchers did a great job of keeping us in the game on a day where we didn't defend or swing the bat very well. At the plate, Adam Barczewski had a big game for us, scoring two runs and driving in two more, including a two-run homer.”
Noah Hepp (1-2) picked up the win, as he pitched two innings allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
Daron Meyerhoff was saddled with the loss. Dylan Witthoft had two hits and a run batted in for Trico.
