Nick Andros hit three home runs, drove in seven runs and struck out 17 batters to lead Goreville past Marissa-Coulterville 10-2 for the second consecutive season in baseball sectional semifinal action Thursday in Goreville.
The Meteors (20-7) grabbed the early lead, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Kenny Jenkins bunted for a single to start the inning. Elijah Burton hit an RBI single to right field and Logan Tabor plated a run with a groundout.
The lead would be short-lived as Goreville answered with two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Burton took the loss on the mound for the Meteors.
