The Marissa-Coulterville and Red Bud boys golf teams took second and third respectively at the Wesclin Regional Tuesday held at Tamarack Country Club.
Nashville won the regional with 315 points followed by Marissa-Coulterville (336), Red Bud (343), Trico (347), Gibault (362), Okawville (366), Wesclin (376), Pinckneyville (387), Steeleville (395), Lebanon (396), New Athens (403), Valmeyer (408), Sparta (410), Chester (422).
The top three teams advance to the Carlyle Sectional to be held Monday, October 10.
Leading the way for the Meteors were Tyler Jones (76), Brock Waldrup (79), Conner Knope (90), Matt Ervin (91), Austin Sinn (95) and Brady Coke (108). The squad is coached by Jason Smith.
For Red Bud, Jacob Miller shot a 78 followed by Ryan Shubert (83), Ian Heizer (89), Cody McCarthy (93), Brenden Lolan (95) and Josh Snyder (95). The team is coached by Keith Price.
Advancing to sectional play as individuals included Dalton Moore of Trico (82), Klayton Coop of Sparta (85), Brandon Rickenberg of Trico (86), and David Burns of Trico (87).
