Despite playing in sleet and close to freezing temperatures April 14, the Trico Lady Pioneer offense was on fire, scoring 17 runs on 17 hits to beat rival Steeleville 17-7.

With the win, Trico improved to 10-3 on the season.

Freshman pitcher Sydney Levan earned the win, as her team fought back from an early 3-0 deficit.

As sleet began to fall before the first pitch, it took Levan awhile to warm up. Chloe Gerlach led the inning off with a walk. A single to centerfield by Bailey Gale, and a Trico error led to the first run. A batter later, Allanah Renner sent a Levan pitch over the left field fence for the 3-0 lead. Levan settled down and got the next three batters out to end the inning.

It didn’t take Trico long to respond. Just three batters later, and the game was tied.
